Having spent significant parts of my professional life outside Pakistan, I have had the opportunity to view the country from both inside and outside.
Pakistan has challenges. Every developing market does.
But it also has opportunities.
It has a large population, entrepreneurial people, growing digital adoption and businesses increasingly connected to international markets.
The opportunity, in my view, is not simply to copy business models from other countries.
We need to understand local problems and build solutions appropriate for Pakistan while maintaining international standards and a global perspective.
Technology makes this increasingly possible.
A company can be based in Pakistan while working with suppliers, customers, developers, investors and partners across the world.
That creates opportunities that previous generations of entrepreneurs did not have.
I remain optimistic about what can be built here.
The future will belong to businesses that understand the local market while remaining connected to the world.
Think locally when understanding the problem. Think globally when building the opportunity.
